Bermuda Honeymoon – Beach

Bermuda Honeymoon

Want luxury, indulgence and relaxation on your honeymoon? Then look no further than the beautiful island of Bermuda. Enjoy your fair share of pampering at exquisite hotels and spend your days wandering the cobbled streets of historic Town of St George. Or if its beach-time you want, explore the island and discover the blush-pink sandy cove at Gates Bay, surrounded by the balmy waters of the Atlantic.

Weather
The best time to visit Bermuda is during the summer season, which spans from April to October when temperatures average around 29°C. The winter season, from November to March, tends to be quieter with a daily of 21°C resulting in cooler water temperatures.

Getting there
L.F. Wade International is the main airport serving flights into Bermuda. You can expect to spend around £600-£700 per adult on the airfare. It only takes 7 hours to get there on a direct British Airways flight from London Gatwick. A flight from any other UK airport will take you twice the time; however stopover options include New York, Amsterdam and Atlanta.

Activities
Bermuda is famous for its world-championship golf courses – should you fancy a round or two – whilst water-sports fans can enjoy snorkelling, diving in Bermuda’s crystal clear waters, water-skiing and a range of other high-adrenalin activities. Horseback tours are also available as an alternative way to explore the island’s world famous beaches.

For couples keen to enjoy Bermuda’s gorgeous views, a gentle stroll along the island’s secluded Railway Trail offers stunning shots of both coastline and Bermuda’s lush forests. The ‘Moongate’ (horseshoe-shaped arches) found in gardens all over the island are said to bring prosperity. Couples are encouraged to walk through the limestone archways, make a wish and seal it with a kiss.

If it’s culture that captures your imagination, then look no further than the historic Town of St George and the Royal Naval Dockyard. Dockyard also houses weekly music and entertainment festivals throughout the summer, where everyone joins together to celebrate Bermuda’s rich culture and heritage.

Finally, for couples in search of that extra special indulgent experience, many of the resorts on the island offer luxurious award winning spas with a range of renowned beauty and health treatments to enjoy. The perfect end to a perfect holiday – and the best way to relax before your flight back to home!

Dining
Hamilton and St George town offer a good choice of dining options, and several of Bermuda’s best restaurants are situated within hotels; Café Lido at the Elbow Beach Hotel, Waterlott Inn at the Fairmont Southampton and Barracuda Grill to name but a few. Bermudiana at the Pink Beach Club & Cottages offers a French and Caribbean menu plus a breathtaking view while you dine. The dress code there is formal and for the gentlemen, a jacket is required.

Café Coco at Coco Reef Resort is another gem offering spectacular south shore views and exquisite cuisine. Enjoy a leisurely luncheon on the terrace or savour a romantic dinner by candlelight. We also recommend a visit to La Vista Bar for a refreshing cocktail in this beautiful ocean front venue.
