All of the men out there that are not an around 5 foot 10 inches, around 10 stone and a Medium clothes size will know the absolute struggle to find clothes that fit. The high street has traditionally been woeful in its approach to these men (and to be fair until very recently it has been a similar story for women) but that is all changing with the newest collection from Burton Menswear.
The Scottish international and Harlequins hero rugby player Tim Visser has been chosen as the face and body of the new collection. He certainly has the stature for it – standing in at an impressive 6ft 4 and weighing 110 pounds. Tim, who has also had successful stints with the Newcastle Falcons and Edinburgh, fronts the collection that offers up stylish options for all men, regardless of shape and size. The line is a sizing extension of the current collection as opposed to a standalone range, which is a brilliant understanding of the need for inclusion and diversity in sizing for men.
Sizes go up to 5XL, tailoring up to a 54 large with trousers up to a 48 long. Extra long options are also available with suiting with longer length ties adding to the accessories already on offer. Footwear sizing has also been increased, with a size 14, as well as wider foot options on sizes 12, 13 and 14.
Speaking about his role as the face of the new collection, Tim Visser says “I’m proud and excited to represent the Big & Tall range at Burton. As a taller guy, I know how hard it is to find clothes that fit. Offering diversity in sizing helps everyone feel good about how they look.”
