How to Travel in Style
Have you ever looked around an airport and been bemused at the sense of style that you have seen there? More often than that, men in the way to their travels dress in one of two ways. The first is the business traveller – he is travelling for one day only and comes armed with a briefcase, the suit that he is wearing and bags under his eyes. We don’t really trouble ourselves with this gent. It is the other kind of traveller that irks us somewhat.
English men like to get into the holiday spirit. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a cheeky airport beer and stocking up on the spirits before you fly. But we draw the line at tracksuits, short shorts and string vests. This, after all is Heathrow and nor Marbella. If you fall into this category of travel, read on for some much needed guidance on how to travel in style.
Its cold in England, as we all know and as such that means you should dress for the weather here and not the weather in Ibiza. We would suggest a light jacket that you can throw over a T shirt and has pockets for keys, phone and wallet. This on trend camo print khaki and orange is pretty perfect and should work well with most things that you have packed too.
Comfort is key when travelling and so there is nothing worse than squeezing yourself into a pair of skinny jeans and then not being able to make that last minute run to your flight in them. Jogger trousers are the way forward. Relaxed, comfortable and still tailored they are perfect for the occasion too. They don’t come much nicer than these at Neil Barrett.
If you want to stay sensible and stylish, then a great pair of sneakers is our premier shoe of choice. Whilst we are aware that you are a sartorial bunch and that sneakers aren’t really your thing, we would strongest suggest investing in a smart pair that you can wear with anything. Keep them low, keep them smart and keep them white (which will mean also investing in some good quality sneaker clean up kit). The Stan Smiths at Adidas have become an essential.
Last but last least, we hate to be shallow but the luggage that you carry says a lot about the kind of man that you are. If you are travelling with Louis Vuitton fake logo luggage, it says something entirely different to if you are the guy with the sleek black leather collection. That guy is the guy that you, and that everyone at the airport wants to be. To be that guy, get the exclusive Wayfarer wheeled suitcase from Reiss which is streamlined, modern and carry on size too.
