There are few men that can dip their toe into different worlds and say that they have made a lasting impression in more than one discipline. Saran Kohli is an exception to the rule. Personal stylist, PR manager, choreographer and performer, Saran has smashed many personal goals and he has done it again with his new menswear offering, the I Am Kohli collection.
Launched at an exclusive event in central London just a few weeks ago, we were there to get the inside track on the new clothes. Let us start by saying that we love the high street and we love super smart attire, but there is definitely something special about having pieces that are different, that stand apart from the norm and that have that “wow” factor. Saran’s new line has all of these things. The I Am Kohli collection shows off the different parts of the designer’s personality and brings together east and west, fusing elements of British and Indian culture into traditional formal and evening wear for men. Designed as a directional menswear brand, the focus for Saran is on tailoring, researching and developing textiles and embroidery and offering really high quality menswear fashion.
Designed with a well-travelled, cultured and intelligent gentleman in mind, Saran’s suits for the season comprise of both dark and light colour palettes that are vivid examples of the different aspects of the man’s personality. The sartorial dandy figure would look amazing in his tailored blazers and hand block printed coats. You will want to keep summer lasting forever with the bold red, yellow and blues. On top of all of that, we were big fans of the way that the collection is vintage, combining Indian royalty and the sartorial archetypal British man about town.
Set over 900 square feet, the suits in the store are all crafted in Europe. The space will also be home to high quality accessories from Velsvoir and shoe designer Jeetinder Sandhu. With an emphasis on providing a one to one service, the store allows for personal consultations with suits being turned out within 6 weeks.
