Entouraaj.com’s 12 most stylish Asian men 2014
From musicians to sportsmen, to our most liked profiles on Instagram, I’ve reflected back over the past 12 months to remind myself who showed us how it’s done when it comes to dressing well. Despite still being shocked that no-one at Entouraaj.com made Eastern Eye Newspaper’s “50 Sexiest Asian Men In The World” list, I’ve devised our very own list of the “12 Most Stylish Asian Men Of 2014”.
Amir Iqbal Khan – Boxer
Amir Khan has slowly transitioned his wardrobe steering more towards well-tailored suits and away from the sports gear. Having also modelled for Prada, he has a keen eye for accessories too with fine jewellery and watches being amongst his favourite items. Can’t argue with that.
Nihal Arthanayake – BBC Radio DJ
What I love most about Nihal’s style is that he keeps it very British. He carries a very clean image with hints of ‘grunginess’ that British fashion is so well known for. He also keeps his outfit fun by adding more depth and colour to your everyday two-piece suits – making a bold statement and leaving an ever-lasting impression.
Waris Ahluwalia – Actor & Designer
Gaining worldwide media attention after featuring in GAP’s 2013 “Make Love” campaign, actor and designer (at his own jewellery brand House of Waris) – Waris is quickly establishing himself as a household name in the fashion world. Known for his sartorial attire with a street edge, Waris definitely has his own distinct and quirky style that seems to come oh-so-effortlessly.
Ranveer Singh – Actor
Winner of the “Best Male Actor” at the Lions Gold Awards 2014, Ranveer has a very western style to him. When he’s not wearing a tailored tuxedo to the biggest events in Bollywood, he keeps it casual and fun. In the image above, he wears a Notorious B.I.G T-shirt teamed with baggy joggers and a pair of Christian Louboutin sneakers. I think he’s got it just right.
Zayn Malik – Music Artist
Part of the biggest boy band on the planet, One Direction, Zayn is often seen in high street pieces such as Topman, Reiss and Urban Outfitters, teaching us that looking good doesn’t always have to come at a price. My favourite look from Zayn in 2014 was his tailed tuxedo with an Alexander McQueen scarf that he wore at the Brit Awards.
Pardeep Singh Bahra – Blogger
Creator of world famous Singh Street Style blog, Pardeep established himself solely on the basis of how he dresses. With his signature rolled up trousers and colour coordinating his turban to his outfit, Pardeep has brewed a storm within the world of style. Attending London Fashion Week in traditional Indian attire, Pardeep is pulling out all the stops to break the barriers for Asians within the fashion world, and his recent campaign for Samsung tell us this is only the start.
Amitabh Bachchan – Actor
I’m sure many of you will be unsurprised that Mr. Bachchan creeped on to our list. As well as being one of the most notable Bollywood actors of all time, he has also paved his way in to the fashion world from being front row at Lakmé fashion week to featuring in GQ India.
Virat Kohli – Cricketer
He dresses as good as he bats. Whether a casual blazer and T-shirt combo or the red carpet look, Kohli always dresses down to the T. His dapper dress sense has even led him to launch his own fashion line – WROGN.
Dhar Mann – Entrepreneur
He’s got the girl, cars and jets but more so, he has the wardrobe to go with it all. If there’s one Instagram profile I can’t stop double tapping it’s his. Mainly dressing in high-end pieces, Dhar is best known for keeping it clean cut and classic.
Hrithik Roshan – Actor
Number one on Eastern Eye’s “50 Sexiest Asian Men In The World” list, we couldn’t not include Hrithik. Like Kohli, he recently debuted his line HRX at Myntra Fashion week and has been all over the news in India ever since due to his impeccable sense of style.
Rav Matharu – Fashion Designer
Designing high-end pieces for the likes of Nas, Kevin Hart and J. Cole (to name a few) it’s no surprise Rav A.K.A. ClothSurgeon, is going to know a thing or two when it comes to fashion. Rav creates his own unique identity with urban daywear but keeps it timeless when dressing up for high profile events.
Fauja Singh – Marathon Runner
At 103 years old, it’s fair to say that Fauja Singh has made his mark in the sports industry – breaking records and inspiring millions along the way. Most impressively however, he reminds us how to dress like a true gentleman at every red carpet event he attends.
